‘Digression’

Karen’s work has an element of story-telling, and a sense of ‘taking a line for a walk’ - whether through the intricate and asymmetric pattern-cutting of a hat, the undulating curves of a lightshade, or the not-quite-repetition and spiralling abstraction in this new wall piece.

Many folded bias pieces inter-weave, criss-cross and meander over a circular frame, sometimes repeating, sometimes doubling-back, most often taking the less obvious path. Like a journey or a conversation, we digress often, but hopefully get there in the end!
